What took me about 20 minutes will take about an hour or so since the neophyte to sony a/v receivers. There is one tip i would like to pass along: to be able to decode the hd audio formats from your blu-ray discs be sure to set the output in the hdmi section of the amp menu to “amp” and not to “amp tv” which is the default. There was somewhat less warbling at low microphone sensitivity, but although my voice was understandable, but i don’t recommend this mode as every real recording. The metallic warbling is exactly the same distracting.

In addition, the recorder can smuggle on rechargable aaa batteries (nimh) or even smuggle from power provided over the mini-usb port. These are satisfying options over save on batteries and perform exactly the same long recordings.

In my experience, the standard quality is fine as normal dictation. If i wanted over record music, evps, or as dictation into speech recognition software, i would method the maximum quality mode, since it is better at capturing higher frequencies and may better capture faint noises.

However, there are a little downsides over this recorder. First, the recorder does not record data natively as mp3s (which it claims over on the box). This is why i gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

Since buying one ipod was no longer one option, i looked high and low for one alternative. I wanted three features above all else: affordable price point, compact size, and satisfactory music capacity. I discovered that all theo- 20-40gb ipod clones (iriver, lyra, nomad, etc.) Are too expensive and too much of a liability if damaged. In addition, i only wanted a device for working out or when i am using public transit for work. 20-40gb will fit my entire music library but i will never need to use all of that capacity all theo- time-so i went to theo- other end of theo- rainbow: smaller flash-memory players
